After at least four years of absence, the Carroll County Genealogical Society Annual Dinner returned on June 11, 2023. Once again, our Hospitality Committee was led by Ms. Wanda Barnes. They put together an outstanding afternoon of fellowship, business and learning. Special appreciation goes to to our guest speaker, Ms. Antigoni Lefteris Ladd, who chronicled the journey of her family as well as others from the Greek Isles to form a new life in America. In addition, we welcomed two new members to the CCGS Board: Heidi St George, secretary, and David Powell, treasurer. Andrea Berstler, director of Carroll County Public Libraries was our honored guest, as well as Martha Hyson, one of CCGS's charter members!

2018 Annual Dinner

CCGS members gathered on June 10 for the annual business and dinner meeting. Our Hospitality Chair Wanda Barnes and her committee organized a great event for 49 guests. Hosted by Carroll Lutheran Village in New Windsor Md., the setting was perfect, the rain ended early and the sun was shining. Wanda knows a thing or two about putting on these events and she always seems to outdo herself with each one.

Our speaker for the evening was Robyn N. Smith and her presentation was excellent and well received by the Society members. Focusing on cluster research techniques and utilizing the "FAN Club" principle, Robyn presented case studies demonstrating the application of these research techniques. Her presentation captured the audience and it seemed many left the event wanting to try out what they had learned with their own research.
